Our Team of counselors and coaches consists of teachers, undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in Early Childhood, Elementary, Secondary and Physical Education, Child Psychology, Social Work, Counseling and other child-related fields of study. All activities are run by Activity Specialists who are highly experienced and well-trained teachers. Seasoned and highly qualified Directors who possess a proficient understanding of child behavior and development are responsible for running each of our programs. Our Aquatics staff is comprised of Red Cross certified lifeguards and instructors who go above and beyond to help make each camper feel comfortable in the water.

Ricky Talman, Camp Director:  

Ricky is in his third year with the Emory Sports Fitness Camp and his second year as Camp Director.  Ricky has a wealth of experience in youth program management, summer program administration, and camp logistics.  Having served as the Operations Director for Elite Soccer Camps LLC for two years as well as overseeing all summer programs for three years at Hampden-Sydney College, Ricky brings a well-rounded background in summer camp programming. 

 

Ricky received his B.S. in Sport Management with a minor in Communications from West Virginia University and completed his Master’s coursework at Virginia Commonwealth University.  His professional experience includes serving as Director of Recreation at Hampden-Sydney College and currently serving as the Assistant Director of Intramural and Club Sports at Emory University.  He also holds a BLS Instructor certification through the American Red Cross.

 

 

Summer 2017 Registration will open on January 9th, 2017!!! 

Summer camps make a huge difference in the year-round education of children.  The American Academy of Pediatrics, alongside many other scholars of child develpment, explain why play is essential to develpment since it contributes to the cognitive, physical, social and emotional well being of children. 

Our sessions fill up quickly every year, so please mark your calendars and register early.

Session 2:  June 12-16
